Deepak is a highly accomplished customer-centric innovator. A seasoned entrepreneur with deep expertise in healthcare, AI, blockchain and digital innovation, he has founded and led the growth of 7 companies that are in aggregate worth >$500M.
With an MBA and a doctorate in Genetics and Molecular Biology, Deepak has the unique ability to merge the rigor of a scientist with the creativity of an entrepreneur.
Prior to OxfordVR, he helped scale The Boston Consulting Group’s Digital Ventures studio to 1000+ people & 100+ portfolio companies. He founded healthcare startups spanning biotech to data science. In addition, he spent several years funding early-stage health innovation.
In his prior life, he was a geneticist and academic who researched and published on the molecular basis of genetic disorders
Prof. Daniel Freeman

Daniel is also a Fellow of the British Psychological Society.
Daniel has been one of the pioneers of the use of virtual reality to understand and treat mental health problems. Having begun working with VR in 2001, he founded and directs the University of Oxford VR lab for mental health disorders. Daniel’s research has been funded by the NHS National Institute of Health Research, the Wellcome Trust, and the UK Medical Research Council. His work is focused on developing the understanding and treatment of mental health disorders, particularly delusions and hallucinations. Daniel has worked on over 15 randomised controlled clinical trials and led the largest ever randomised controlled trial of a psychological treatment for a mental health problem. He is the author of ten books and over 200 peer-reviewed journal articles.
Mike Desjadon

Mike leads OxfordVR’s commercial efforts including go-to-market strategy, marketing, sales and strategic partnerships. He is an experienced commercial leader and expert in healthcare business strategy with a particular focus on digital transformation and consumer focused growth. Mike’s deep experience with some of the United States’ largest and most innovative health systems has helped him bring an innovative and unique approach to growth strategy.
Prior to joining OxfordVR, Mike led strategic growth for Mytonomy, a leading digital care start-up based in Bethesda, Maryland. While there, Mike drove Mytonomy’s commercial and market strategy resulting its ascension to a recognized leader in facilitating US Healthcare’s “digital front door.”
Before this, Mike served as Managing Director and Senior Principal at Optum, a subsidiary of the United Health Group after their acquisition of the Advisory Board Company where Mike spent 12 years as a commercial leader and a trusted advisor to several of the United States’ leading health systems. In these roles Mike was responsible for understanding the evolution of the US healthcare market and driving the creation and scale of complex tech-enabled products and consulting solutions into the market.
Mike is driven by deep passion for driving innovation in the healthcare industry and helping to advance care options for patients everywhere through the marriage of great care and great technology. He has a bachelor’s degree in political science from Colgate University and lives in Virginia.
Samantha Lawson

Samantha steers OxfordVR’s strategic priorities and day-to-day operations. Over the last 15+ years, she has developed deep expertise in creating value from emerging technologies, across industries. She has led multiple new venture builds, disrupted traditional business models, launched deep technology products, and led strategy, innovation, and large-scale transformation functions for companies large (ASX 100) and small.
Prior to joining OxfordVR Samantha was a Non-Executive Director of Silicon Quantum Computing and General Manager of Emerging Technology, Strategy & Transformation at Australia’s largest bank. Samantha previously worked for The Boston Consulting Group where she led numerous digital transformations and new business builds before moving on to commercialize emerging healthcare technologies in Australia and the US. She holds MBA from INSEAD.
